English has already been spreading Darwinistically quite successfully. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English-speaking_world#English_as_a_global_language. What exactly about my idea do you not agree with?

That English won’t spread as fast as we’d like? Sure. People are stupid (to put it bluntly), and reluctant to learn new things — especially the elderly. In a perverse way, aging and Covid-19 will “help” with that.

My idea is that the world would be a better place if everyone understood English. What do you think about that?
