Yep. Consider the average Ruby/PHP/C/Go/etc. programmer. When they see this coming from the JS land, will they think “Oh, some weirdo wanted to make a crappy OS”, or “Wow, what a bunch of weirdos in the JS community, over 6000 of them think this crap is worth starring.”

Most people don’t think as critically as we’d like, and it’s very easy to commit the fallacy of hasty generalization.
